Programme Structure and Funding
The project is a full-time Ph.D. project and is taught in 3.5-4 years (42-48 months). Only 1 recruits.
The University of Durren, together with the China National Fund for Study Abroad (CSC), has established a full Ph.D. Scholarship Programme to cover all disciplines. Approximately 25 scholarships (all disciplines) are offered each year for up to 48 months. It includes full tuition fees, annual allowances, overseas student health insurance, round-trip tickets and visa application fees. CSC-Durren University joint scholarships are usually open for the period from 12 to 1 the following year of admission, and applicants are required to complete their application for a Ph.D. at the University of Durren by mid-year 1 and to be admitted without conditions (or to meet the CSC requirements for formal admission). In addition, highly qualified students have access to the position of paid scientific assistant (RA) and assistant (TA) of the experimental team during their reading.

Career Prospects
The graduates of the doctorate in engineering at the University of Durant have a great deal of development space. In the United Kingdom, the employment rate of engineering and technical graduates is significantly higher than that of other disciplines, with employment at 73.2 % after 15 months of graduation, and in engineering and technical positions, salaries are generally higher than in other professions.
For the third consecutive year, Durant University has been in the UK’s top employer preference at the University Top 10 with an average annual salary of approximately GBP 33,617 for graduates and an average salary of about GBP 38,686 five years later for engineering graduates. In terms of career choices, doctoral graduates mainly go to the following areas:
- Academia and scientific research: Doctoral graduates can be independent researchers in post-doctoral research or teaching at universities or research institutions around the world.
The engineering disciplines at Durant University cover civil, mechanical, electrical and other directions, and the professional recognition of doctoral degrees by authoritative institutions such as the British Institute of Engineering and Technology and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers provides a solid foundation for scientific and research career development. - Energy and environmental engineering: Graduates can enter energy companies for research and development of new energy technologies and engineering project management, as well as traditional energy industries such as hydrocarbon exploration.
In areas such as carbon capture and storage and renewable energy, a growing number of doctoral graduates are active in front-line projects such as energy transformation, storage systems, etc. - Manufacturing and Engineering Technology: Graduates can be employed in technical research and development in the areas of mechanical manufacturing, automobile industry and aerospace, in product design, process optimization and high-end equipment manufacturing.
Multinational enterprises provide a wealth of technical opportunities for doctors in this field. - Scientific and technical advice and data analysis: Some of the doctoral graduates have entered management consulting, technical advice or data analysis enterprises to provide technical engineering programmes and strategic advice.
The systematic analysis and modelling capabilities of Dr. Engineering have unique advantages in these areas.
