Career Prospects

Ph.D. graduates from the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) of Nanyang Polytechnic University of Singapore have a high reputation in international academia and industry. The College, with its long experience of interdisciplinary research and production cooperation, offers Ph.D. students the opportunity to conduct research with top-level laboratories, scientific institutions and industry partners (e.g. Rolls-Royce, Airbus, Pratt & Whitney, Dyson, GE, etc.).

The majority of graduates continue to study or work in areas such as aerospace, robotics, intelligent manufacturing, energy systems, materials science and automated engineering, part of which goes to globally recognized institutions of higher learning (e.g. MIT, Cambridge, ETH Zurich, NUS) for post-doctoral or teaching research, and a significant proportion of multinational science and technology enterprises and government research institutions (e.g. A*STAR, Siemens, ST Engineering) as research and development engineers, project managers or innovation managers. The College focuses on the social transformation of the results of doctoral studies, supports entrepreneurship and technology incubators, and encourages students to participate in international conferences and patent applications.

Overall, Dr. MAE graduates have solid scientific capabilities, systematic engineering thinking and an internationalized vision, with great prospects for development in high-tech industries and academic research globally.
