Professor of Wolfson College, Cambridge University; Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience

To enrich International Education Exchange, Professor Vestersgaard from University of Cambridge has kindly offered to give a one-hour presentation. For full details, see below:

He is a computational neuroscientist at Wolfson College, Cambridge University. He has studied the theoretical and functional relationship between decision-making psychology and the cognitive and economic structure of communication. He is also interested in the perceptual and cognitive separation of competitive speech, auditory size perception, and other cognitive aspects of auditory function. He uses psychophysical experiments, computational models and brain imaging techniques to identify behavioral and neurological indicators of reward processing and auditory specialization.

Martin received his Ph.D. in Psychological Acoustics from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), where he had previously earned his MSc and EE degrees following undergraduate and graduate studies in Electrical Engineering and Communications at DTU and in Systèmes électroniques et Informatiques Industrielles at Polytech Nantes. He was a Research Fellow at the Centre for the Neural Basis of Hearing, Cambridge before he moved on to study the cognitive aspect of the reward system in the Department of Physiology, Development, and Neuroscience. He became Professor Wolfson College in 2011.

His research on the effects of "The Banker's Fallacy" and "The Happy End" has been reported by popular media such as CNN, Wired, Men's Health, Business Standard, The Science Times, and Forbes.
