一、项目背景自从人类能够自由思考以来，他们的行动都有赖于他们对世界与人生的各种理论，关 于什么是善什么是恶的理论。这一点在今天正像在以往任何时候是同样的真确。要了 解一个时代或者一个民族，我们必须要了解它的哲学;要了解它的哲学，我们就必须 在某种程度上自己就是哲学家。这里就有一种互为因果的关系，人们生活的环境在决 定他们的哲学上掐着很大的作用，然而反过来他们的哲学又在决定他们的环境上起着 很大的作用。哲学是文化中最为深层次的内容，它是文化存在的根基、是文化存在的 灵魂之所在。西方文学以及哲学思想不但影响和渗透到艺术的主题、题材、情节等内 容范畴之中，而且直接影响和改变了当代艺术的艺术形式和表现手段。
二、项目说明
面向对象：欲以申请美国常青藤名校艺术史、西方文学、人类学、历史等相关专业的 本科生、研究生，以及勇于挑战的高中生。
软性背景：有一定西方文学或者科研履历者优先;
科研导师：牛津大学宗教史教育学院教授 Liam Francis Gearon
Liam Francis Gearon 是哲学、宗教、教育研究小组的创始人召集人，为牛津大学教 育系的研究文化提供了独特的跨学科贡献。哲学、宗教和教育研究小组通过共同关注 教育，在艺术、人文、哲学和社会科学之间建立了理论和经验上的联系。该研究小组 的贡献包括:研究政策和影响的理论;艺术和人文研究的文化价值;研究伦理;学校 研究中认识论和伦理领域的交叉;学校和大学的宗教、激进主义和反恐;以及在教育、 安全和情报研究的界面上创建独特的子研究领域。
科研形式：线上远程，导师授课+练习实战结合，完成课题学习、选题、研究实战及报告撰写；

三、项目/研究介绍Research
此课程主要讲述了西方文化史上的价值观演变、主要文学与艺术成就以及社会历史变 迁，旨在通过对西方文化史的纵向考察和西方人文思想经典的深度阅读，使学生能够 拓宽知识面，提高人文素养，培养思辨能力。该课程在历史、美学和哲学三个层次同 时展开。在历史层面，为学生勾勒西方文明史的宏观演进途径，尤其关注对西方文明 发展曾产生重大影响的社会与文化事件，使学生认识西方思想产生的历史背景。在美 学层面，为学生提供欣赏西方著名艺术与文学作品的机会，感受西方思想和价值观念 在西方文学作品中的生动展现，在哲学层面，引导学生进入西方思想大家的殿堂，同 时掌握批判性阅读的技巧，学会运用证据和逻辑有效组织和陈述自己的观点。
